just wondered how things were going with regard to the fires.

i know that the news has quietened down but i suspect we have not heard the end of it.

i so seldom seek to sit inside an actual movie theater anymore.however ...some films are absolutely tailored for it.life of pigravityavatar3 examples of movies which do not translate to your home viewing...at all.good, bad, or indifferent - some films are visual and immersive.. here is a sacred pronouncement:movies are a visual medium.in the hands of an orson welles (i.e.

I agree with your comments about CGI. I think if a nuclear explosion occurred within sight now it would be dismissed as unrealistic. We have been so inured by big bangs, splattering blood and the like that excellent non-computerised film making has been devalued. CGI has it's place but your observation is so true, the key is restraint.

It can be compared to public speaking. Many feel that the key to emphasis is to speak faster and louder until blood vessels are popping. Give me the contrast of the quiet pause followed by an almost whispered truth. Power is in restraint.

currently reading : 30 years a watchtower slave.

cannot put it down.. this book pre-dates ray franz book "crisis of conscience", written from early 20th century, shortly after the jehovah's witnesses were formed.

the author describes the original true background of the watchtower society as a multi-million dollar publishing company.

Marley Cole I believe. This was in or bookshelves 50 years ago. It was my first furtive glance under the stone as a boy.

Edit to say, I am confusing Marley Cole's book "Jehovah's Witnesses - The new World Society". We had them both on the shelf.

And there it is. WT requires obedient unity above everything. The vacant smile, the mindless staged expressions of "love" during international conventions. There is no room for tolerance or inclusiveness. All must march in lockstep on their way to North Korea.
